Experienced operators helping organizations work better.
Lasting Progress was created around a simple idea: businesses perform better when strategy, people, systems, information, and execution work together.
Our experience spans organizations at very different stages of development, from small operating teams and growing privately held businesses to multi-site organizations and highly complex global companies.
The scale changes. Many of the underlying challenges do not.
Organizations still need clear leadership, effective structures, reliable systems, useful information, disciplined execution, strong customer performance, and an operating model capable of adapting as the business changes.
Lasting Progress brings experience from turnarounds, rapid growth, operational transformation, digital and ERP implementation, organizational restructuring, capacity expansion, cost improvement, customer recovery, and new-market development.
That experience has been developed across industries ranging from manufacturing and distribution to aerospace, automation, and life sciences, including environments with demanding regulatory, quality, customer, and performance requirements.
Apply the sophistication the situation requires.
A smaller company does not need the operating infrastructure of a billion-dollar corporation. It may, however, benefit from many of the same underlying principles.
The work is therefore not about importing complexity. It is about understanding what good looks like at scale and translating the right pieces to the organization in front of us.
For one company that might mean establishing basic operating measures and management routines. For another it could mean redesigning a multi-site operating model, replacing an ERP, restructuring the leadership organization, integrating acquisitions, or leading a significant turnaround.
The objective is always the same: build an organization that performs better today and is better prepared for what comes next.
The scale and tools change. The same foundation runs underneath every stage: people, systems, performance, execution.
Senior operating perspective, supported by focused expertise when it is needed.
Lasting Progress takes a practical approach to advisory work. Engagements are led from an executive operating perspective, with the objective of understanding the business as a whole rather than treating individual symptoms in isolation.
When a situation requires deeper technical or functional expertise, Lasting Progress can draw on experienced operators, advisors, specialists, and partner resources across relevant disciplines. That may include expertise in areas such as technology, analytics, finance, quality, compliance, organizational development, specialized operations, or implementation support.
Expertise the firm can draw on when a situation requires it, not a permanent bench carried on every engagement.
The model is intentionally flexible. A company should not have to fund a large consulting team simply because one capability is needed, nor should a complex problem be forced through the experience of a single individual.
Bring the right level of experience to the problem. Add specialized capability where it creates value. Keep the engagement as simple as the situation allows.
Adam McCombs
Lasting Progress was founded by Adam McCombs, an executive operator whose career has included CEO, managing director, and senior operations leadership roles across manufacturing, industrial automation, aerospace, and life sciences.
His experience includes business turnarounds, revenue and profitability growth, organizational restructuring, operational transformation, ERP and digital systems, capacity expansion, and leadership of complex operating environments ranging from small teams to organizations with hundreds of employees.
That operating experience forms the foundation of Lasting Progress's approach: practical, fact-based, direct, and focused on creating organizations that work.
Good advice should fit the business, not the other way around.
Lasting Progress brings the operating experience, perspective, and specialized support required to meet an organization where it is and help build what it needs next.
